WET‘s staff has extensive experience managing multidisciplinary teams and preparing technical input to EISs and EAs in compliance with NEPA requirements. WET is intimately familiar with the environmental regulations facing our clients, including the Clean Water Act, Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act (SMCRA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). WET is experienced in expediting the permitting process through close agency liaison and coordination.

WET staff members are qualified to serve as expert witnesses in the areas of NEPA compliance, environmental science, water monitoring, water quality, and hydrology. Clients in litigation are assisted through analytical reports, written depositions, and testimony.

WET has evaluated reclaimed lands and produced reclamation liability and bond release applications under federal and approved state SMCRA interim and permanent program permits, and EPA Section 404 permits for the Corps of Engineers. These bond release applications have been effective in obtaining timely release of all phases of reclamation liability and bond release in a number of states.

WET provides water quality sampling services for physical, inorganic, and organic parameters. Water quality baselines are established, and sampling of mining, industrial, and agricultural constituents is conducted in compliance with quality control guidelines established by the EPA for environmental monitoring programs, as well as regulatory requirements of the Water Quality Act of 1987, Safe Drinking Water Act and other water quality regulations.
